Greetings from Crossview, On Sunday Pastor Jim led us thru Luke 23 and Christ’s time on the cross. Using Dr. John’s song for illustration (wrong place-right time) to show us one who was indeed there. The second criminal who rebuked the first one for mocking Jesus and who then asked to be remembered. While hanging on a cross, certainly the wrong place, but oh what a right time. Cynical Criminal: You’re supposed to be the Anointed One, right? Well—do it! Rescue Yourself and us! But the other criminal told him to be quiet. Believing Criminal: Don’t you have any fear of God at all? You’re getting the same death sentence He is! We’re getting what we deserve since we’ve committed crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong at all! (turning to Jesus) Jesus, when You come into Your kingdom, please remember me. Jesus: I promise you that this very day you will be with Me in paradise. Right time indeed. Is it your right time? In spite of this man’s admitted guilt FAITH IN CHRIST AS THE SON OF GOD, SAVED HIM. Has the Fathers love through the Son spoken to you? In spite of whatever wrong place you may be in, if he is tugging on your heart then this is the right time. Romans 10:9-13 So if you believe deep in your heart that God raised Jesus from the pit of death and if you voice your allegiance by confessing the truth that “Jesus is Lord,” then you will be saved! Belief begins in the heart and leads to a life that’s right with God; confession departs from our lips and brings eternal salvation. Because what Isaiah said was true: “The one who trusts in Him will not be disgraced.” Remember that the Lord draws no distinction between Jew and non-Jew—He is Lord over all things, and He pours out His treasures on all who invoke His name because as Scripture says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Please let us know if you have answered his call so that we can pray for you on your journey of New Life. Blessings to you and yours.
CrossView Family, Sarah Gunnells gave birth to sweet little Avery this morning. We would like to bless her with dinner for one week. Please sign up if you can take or prepare a meal.
Blessings from Crossview! On Sunday Pastor Danny spoke of forgiveness with Luke 23:34 being central. Our mark to shoot for, or our example of behavior is given by Christ in his words as well as his deeds. His forgiveness of us while we were yet sinners and enemies of his kingdom is such an example. Our mind struggles to wrap around such love as this. Romans 12:17-18 Do not retaliate with evil, regardless of the evil brought against you. Try to do what is good and right and honorable as agreed upon by all people. If it is within your power, make peace with all people. Matthew 5:43-44 also You have been taught to love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you this: love your enemies. Pray for those who torment you and persecute you. And finally, the reminder of why we should model the forgiveness of Christ: Colossians 3:13-15 Put up with one another. Forgive. Pardon any offenses against one another, as the Lord has pardoned you, because you should act in kind. But above all these, put on love! Love is the perfect tie to bind these together. Let your hearts fall under the rule of the Anointed’s peace (the peace you were called to as one body), and be thankful. So, let us enter our homes and workplaces with the spirit of forgiveness leading the way as we seek to shine a light of love and forgiveness to a lost and dying world. May You be filled with His glory as Ambassadors of Christ, now go out to fulfill His purpose.
This was a great community partner event. Thank you to all of our CrossView people who served.
Kayla Chasity Dawson you model the CrossView Culture so well. Thank you for serving at our Winshape Kickoff tonight. You led prayerfully, finished what you started, went above and beyond, engaged relationally with the families and the Winshape Staff, helped families take their next step, and you had fun.
The Rest… that you need and must have to accomplish what God would have you to. As Pastor Danny reminded us rest is not sleep, time off, or an escape but, it is rest in confidence of His ability to keep his promises and lead us into the purpose for which we are made. Stress comes when we take our eyes off Christ and put it on, ourselves, circumstances, or others as Peter did while walking on the water. Keep our eyes on Christ The Prize for our stress will be less and our rest will be fulfilled. Ref Matt 14:22-33 May You be filled with His glory and go out to fulfill His purpose.
Thank you Pastor Danny for investing in our staff. I hope everyone enjoys your weekend and we can’t wait to see you on Sunday.
Welcome to The Knot! As we reflect on our current Sunday series on tightening the knot, I would like to remind us of John 13:34 So I give you a new command: Love each other deeply and fully. Remember the ways that I have loved you, and demonstrate your love for others in those same ways. Everyone will know you as My followers if you demonstrate your love to others. So… if we can’t do that with our spouse then what hope is there of being known as Christlike to others? Watch your mouth, never call names, never raise your voice, never get historical, handle our anger righteously, etc. As we go thru life our spouse should be our most ardent and faithful ally. If they are not it is time to stop, checkup, and fix it. Nothing is more critical and important to our being a faithful disciple of Christ than the care and feeding (spiritual and physical) of our family. And try to live with this verse in mind, especially within your spousal relationship: Eph 4:26-27 When you are angry, don’t let it carry you into sin. Don’t let the sun set with anger in your heart or give the devil room to work. Let’s go out to the world this week trying not to give the devil room to work but to enlarge room for God to Work. Be Blessed and... Be a Blessing.
It’s a work in progress but here is our “Tighten the Knot” photo booth for Sunday. Get ready to take your picture, not just for couples.
Greetings Crossview! To remind us of our SQUAD GOALS: Here is the short and sweet for reminding us of God’s will in our lives. John 13:34-34 So I give you a new command: Love each other deeply and fully. Remember the ways that I have loved you, and demonstrate your love for others in those same ways. Everyone will know you as My followers if you demonstrate your love to others. BE A BLESSING!

Hello fellow Crossview Squad Members! We were encouraged this Sunday to look at some biblical examples of people that we need on our squad. We all need these. A Samuel: who sees something in you. A Jonathan: who had great spiritual strength. A Nathan: who was a friend who tells you the truth, even when it’s not pleasant. We can appreciate these qualities and others who are wise can too. We also need to BE these folks to our squad as they face challenges and trials . The one that speaks to me is Samuel. I knew a friend like that years back that always comes to my mind when an encourager is mentioned. Mike was his name and he was liked by most folks and always had an encouraging outlook to leave with you as you departed his presence. He could have certainly found things negative to say, but was instead always uplifting and encouraging in his communication. All of us could stand to be more like that. Remember this week to be a light to the world and an encourager especially to those in the family of God. Hebrews 3:12-13 Brothers and sisters, pay close attention so you won’t develop an evil and unbelieving heart that causes you to abandon the living God. Encourage each other every day—for as long as we can still say “today”—so none of you let the deceitfulness of sin harden your hearts. BE A BLESSING!!
Hello fellow Crossview Squad Members! Welcome to a review of Sunday’s message. Our new series is on Squad Goals and Sunday was the first of these. Central scripture comes from Proverbs 13:20 One who walks with the wise becomes wise, but whoever keeps company with fools only hurts himself. And Proverbs 17:17 A true friend loves regardless of the situation, and a real brother exists to share the tough times. This is not at all to say that we don’t or shouldn’t have friends among the lost and dying world, far from it. The meaning is, that those that we should in our lives be wise and godly friends to lean on and depend on as we go through periods of need and hurt in our own lives while living IN the world FOR Christ. So, my take is that we need those attributes; Build relationships, be present, be real, be encouraging, as we try to grow into the world changing disciple that God would have us to be. Through HIS power and strength and our willingness to follow, we can be! Have a great week and take Gods message of Grace with you as you go into the world this week, ref Matthew 28.
